Illinois House votes to ban red light cameras, but not in Chicago

The Illinois House on Wednesday approved a measure that would ban red light cameras in about 35 communities outside of Chicago, even as supporters pointed to flaws in the city’s program as reason to do away with the much-loathed devices.  The legislation would make the cameras illegal in municipalities that are not home rule — generally towns with a population of less than 25,000 — starting in 2017.  To read the rest of this article head to the Chicago Tribune.
