Illinois Supreme Court rules in Comcast Identity Case

On Thursday, June 18, the Illinois Supreme Court affirmed lower court rulings that internet service provider Comcast must reveal the identity of an online commenter who compared a Stephenson County politician to convicted pedophile and ex-Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.  Don Craven, an attorney for the Illinois Press Association, said Thursday’s decision should make clear that Illinois, at least, will not tolerate such attempts at defamation.  To read the rest of this article head to The State Journal Register.
