Sarah D. Casey, an associate attorney at Bennett & Bangser, LLC, practices in all areas of divorce and family law in Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane and McHenry Counties. Despite being newly admitted as an attorney as of November 2018, Sarah brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the firm. In addition to completing a judicial externship at the First Municipal District in Chicago, Sarah clerked for two divorce and family law firm while attending law school – during which time she prepared numerous discovery responses and motions and assisted with depositions and court hearings. Sarah came to the firm with the highest of recommendations from Brad and Marc’s peers for her excellent writing skills, interpersonal relationships and ability to hit the ground running with any task given to her.
She graduated from College of Charleston, received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and earned her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law. During law school, Sarah worked as a Legal Writing teaching assistant and received the highest marks in her Legal Writing and Trial Advocacy classes. In between undergrad and law school, Sarah received a Master in Social Work from Loyola University-Chicago specializing in children and families. This clinical social work training and expertise is unique for a practicing attorney and is utilized by Sarah when helping clients during the divorce and family law process – and assists her in providing comprehensive strategies and solutions to the myriad of issues that may arise.
Also a supporter of women’s rights and the humanitarian efforts surrounding same, Sarah recently traveled to Tanzania as a volunteer attorney to assist women facing legal issues involving property disputes, divorce and domestic violence.
